The ‘How to Communicate the Value of a PhD Beyond Academia‘ workshop will explore the topics “Why would a company hire a PhD graduate?” and “How do you explain your research to a recruiter?”. In this context, PhD candidates will be challenged to develop both their personal elevator pitch and a concise pitch presenting their research project.workshop develops skills for recruitment processes, covering strategies to communicate your value with impact.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
This workshop will be held on April 14th, online, from 2pm to 4pm. The session will be delivered in english.
It is intended for PhD students and Early-Career Researchers.

Trainer: Ana Freitas
Bachelor’s degree in Education (IE–University of Minho); Master’s degree in Educational Sciences (IE–University of Minho); PhD candidate in Educational Sciences with a research focus on Doctoral Education (FPCEUP). Certified as a teacher trainer (CCPFC/RFO-16273/03) and as a trainer of trainers (EDF-42336-2003). She is currently a Visiting Assistant Lecturer at the University of Porto (Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Sciences) and a doctoral research fellow at CIIE – Centre for Research and Intervention in Education, FPCEUP.
NOTE: The attendance certificate will be issued if the trainee attends at least 80% of the total course time.
