Research Data Management and Open Science for PhD Students (2nd edition)
Through a combination of short theoretical inputs and practical examples, participants will be introduced to key topics such as the FAIR Data Principles, Data Management Plans (DMPs), and the Research Data Lifecycle.
The ‘Research Data Management and Open Science’ workshop aims to introduce the fundamental concepts of Research Data Management (RDM) and Open Science.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
This workshop will be held online on December 15th, from 10:30am to 12pm. The session will be held in english.
It is a free workshop designed for CIIMAR PhD Students (students of the BYT program are also welcomed to attend this training).
Registration closes on December 14th.
NOTE: The attendance certificate will be issued if the trainee attends at least 80% of the total course time.
DESCRIPTION:
The workshop’s objective is to raise awareness and provide practical guidance to help early-career researchers adopt open, responsible, and efficient research practices from the beginning of their academic careers.
Trainer: Maria Paola Tomasino
Maria Paola Tomasino is responsible for Data Stewardship and Open Science at CIIMAR-UP, supporting researchers in handling their data according to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and Open Science principles. She is involved in national and international infrastructures for best practices in Data Management (e.g. GDI, Biodata, ELIXIR). Her research interests focus on microbial diversity in natural and contaminated ecosystems. She is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students, encouraging outreach activities, and promoting collaboration between scientists and the general public.
