Visual Communication in Practice for Scientists and Researchers

This is a free online workshop for CIIMAR Community, but prior registration is required (in the ticket below). For participants from external institutions, the workshop costs 100€. Registrations are open until February 13th.

The course will take place in two morning sessions (from 10am to 12pm) on March 2nd and 3rd at IPMA, Matosinhos.

It will be held in english.

Goal:

Helping researchers create visuals that are clear, compelling, and scientifically credible, tailored to the needs of their audience.

Workshop focus:

This applied workshop has two parts:

• First, an introduction to visual communication in science and research, looking at a range of examples from participants’ disciplines (Marine and Environmental Research);
• Second, a hands-on session applying visual principles to a specific type of scientific communication material.

During the applied session, we review examples, and participants have the opportunity to revise or create a visual. They receive feedback from peers and the facilitator.

Suzanne Whitby is a futurer, facilitator, and storyteller working at the intersection of science, sustainability, and society.
