SUMMARY:Diving into Horizon Europe and Beyond: A practical guide
DESCRIPTION:This training session will take place on 28 May 2026\, from 10:00 to 12:00\, at IPMA (Matosinhos). \nDESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe aim of this activity is to provide an introductory overview of the Horizon Europe programme\, the European Union’s framework programme for research and innovation. \nThe training session will present the main structure and objectives of Horizon Europe\, with particular attention to funding opportunities relevant to CIIMAR researchers. In addition\, the session will include a practical demonstration of the EU Funding & Tenders Portal\, the European Commission’s official platform for managing funding opportunities and proposal submissions. This component aims to familiarize participants with the portal’s key functionalities\, including the identification of relevant calls\, access to programme documentation\, and navigation of the proposal submission environment. \nThe session is intended primarily for postdoctoral researchers seeking to develop their understanding of European research funding opportunities and application processes; however\, senior researchers are also welcome to participate. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTarget audience: CIIMAR postdoctoral researchers to established researchers\nLocation: IPMA\, Matosinhos\nRegistration is free for all participants\nMaximum number of participants: 25\n\nRegistrations are open until 26 May 2026. \n\nInstructors: \nSusana Moreira \nSusana Moreira is PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Porto in 2005. She has significant working experience in the development and implementation of activities related with monitoring\, dissemination and exploitation of R&D results and public policy support. She also works as liaison officer with different stakeholders and represents CIIMAR in several national and European forums. Lecturer of the course of Integrated Ocean Management of the Marine Sciences – Marine Resources MSc Degree\, at Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar\, University of Porto\, Portugal. \nAgnès Marhadour \nAgnès Marhadour holds a BSc in Ecology from the University of Rennes (France) and Master in Science Communication from the University of Paris. She has worked for several years as Assistant Editor at the Journal of the Marine Biological Association\, UK\, and in support of communication activities for the British Phycological Society and several companies in France. At CIIMAR\, she is currently working at the R&I Strategy and Funding office mainly in support of application preparation. She has been involved in a number of projects and events in support of CIIMAR activities.

DESCRIPTION:‘How to Design a Graphical Abstract‘ workshop aims to explain what a graphical abstract is and give you design tools and tips on how to create a better\, clear and engaging graphical abstract. \nThis workshop is tailored to give you tools and improve your graphical abstract\, without having to learn how to use a new software program (like Adobe Illustrator).  \nBring your graphical abstract\, share it with the class\, work on it and take home a new version!  \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATIONS:\nIt will be held at IPMA\, Matosinhos\, on May 19th\, from 9:30am to 5:30pm. \nThe workshop will be delivered in english. \n  \nRegistration fee: \n\nCIIMAR & IPMA members: free\nStandard: 100€ (CCMAR members have a 50% discount)\n\n  \nRegistration closes on May 5th. \n\nFor this session\, you’ll need to bring your personal computer for the practical activity.\nIn addition\, you must send your graphical abstract to trainingandcareer@ciimar.u.pt\, which will then be shared with the trainer. Each participant presents their own work so that everyone becomes familiar with the theme of each abstract and is encouraged to think about the message they want to convey\nTalk: “How to design a graphical abstract”\, which includes various tips and best practices for creating a clear and effective graphical abstract\n\nAfternoon (2pm-5:30pm) \n\nIndividual work on rethinking and redesigning their graphical abstract\nPresentation of the new versions of the graphical abstracts (before vs after). The trainer will give feedback on the graphical abstract and suggest alternatives\n\n  \nTrainer: Rita Félix \nRita Félix is a science communicator\, illustrator and designer\, with life sciences research experience. Currently working as the Designer and Science Illustrator at CNC-UC.  \nShe completed her PhD in Neuroscience in 2020\, in the Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme. After that\, she enrolled in a Digital Illustration Specialization Course to further develop her visualization and design skills. Worked as a Scientific Graphic Designer at Science Crunchers\, a science communication company\, where she developed multiple graphical abstracts\, article figures\, infographics\, diagrams\, illustrations\, visual identity\, logos and webdesign for companies\, scientific institutions and Horizon 2020 consortia.

SUMMARY:Ciências Sociais: Processos Participativos\, Envolvimento e Capacitação de Stakeholders\, e Cogestão
DESCRIPTION:É um curso gratuito para membros do CIIMAR\, mas sujeito a inscrição prévia (no ticket apresentado abaixo). Para participantes de outras instituições\, o curso tem um custo de 100€. \nSerá realizado em português no IPMA\, Matosinhos. \n  \n1. Introdução \nCom o objetivo de fortalecer competências em processos participativos e gestão colaborativa\, propomos um curso intensivo de um dia dedicado à capacitação em envolvimento de stakeholders e cogestão. Destaca-se a importância de explorar estes novos paradigmas para a gestão sustentável de recursos naturais e projetos ambientais\, especialmente em contextos de conservação. \n2. Objetivos do curso \n• Compreender os conceitos e fundamentos dos processos participativos\, envolvimento e capacitação de stakeholders\, e da cogestão. \n• Capacitar os participantes para a importância da facilitação\, da participação ativa e da construção coletiva. \n• Promover competências para a gestão colaborativa de recursos naturais e marinhos. \n• Bases para aplicar metodologias participativas para fortalecer o compromisso e co-responsabilização dos atores envolvidos. \n3. Público-alvo \nO curso destina-se a investigadores do CIIMAR que tenham de lidar com o envolvimento e capacitação de stakeholders\, e que estejam relacionado especificamente à temática da gestão participativa e inclusiva. \n4. Metodologia \nAbordagem teórico-prática através de exposições teóricas complementadas por atividades práticas\, promovendo a aprendizagem ativa e o debate entre participantes\, fomentando a aplicação dos conceitos em contextos reais. \nFORMADORA: Rita Sá

SUMMARY:Primeiros Socorros Psicológicos – da teoria à prática
DESCRIPTION:A formação em Primeiros Socorros Psicológicos\, é gratuita para a Comunidade CIIMAR\, mas sujeita a inscrição prévia (no ticket apresentado abaixo). Para participantes de outras instituições\, a formação tem um custo de 100€. \n  \nÉ uma formação de duas manhãs (das 9h às 13h) a realizar nos dias 19 e 26 de fevereiro\, no IPMA\, de Matosinhos. \nSerá realizada em português. \n  \n“A adequada intervenção psicossocial na sequência de um incidente pode reduzir a doença e promover a resiliência na população.” (EFPA\, SC Disaster\, Crisis and Trauma Psychology). \nNesta formação pretende-se que os formandos adquiram noções básicas acerca dos conceitos de crise (onde se inclui a crise psicológica)\, do trauma e do seu impacto\, e dos fatores de risco e de proteção existentes perante uma exposição a evento potencialmente traumático. \nCom recurso a metodologias ativas\, propõe-se\, através de modelos de intervenção baseados na evidência\, dotar os formandos de competências psicossociais associadas a boas práticas de primeiros socorros psicológicos\, onde se incluem os princípios da segurança\, calma\, autoeficácia\, conexão e esperança\, a par de competências essenciais de comunicação empática\, não-violenta\, e sem julgamento. Estas competências poderão ser úteis em contexto laboral tradicional\, de “trabalho de campo”\, interpessoal\, ou outros\, e os exemplos treinados pretendem exemplificar algumas das diferentes especificidades dos contextos e da intervenção. \nDada a componente prática\, será importante considerar a assiduidade dos formandos ao longo da formação. \nPerante o tema dos primeiros socorros psicológicos\, importa acautelar um contexto de formação seguro\, empático e acolhedor\, onde serão abordados temas sensíveis e emocionalmente difíceis. Além disto\, o carácter prático da formação tem especial importância que as metodologias de primeiros socorros psicológicos exigem prática e treino ao longo do tempo\, pelo que a presença de dois formadores é também útil e importante de forma a dinamizar as sessões. \n  \nFormadoras: \nFilipa Rebelo e Isabel Guimarães\, membros efetivos da Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses e com experiência em intervenção em crise.
