Now you’ll have to make up for it and work over the weekend! \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATION:\nThe ‘Time Management and Procrastination‘ workshop is aimed for CIIMAR PhD Students and Post-Docs (priority to PhD students). Students of the BYT program are also welcomed to attend this training. \n  \nThe session will be held in the old Vaccination Center of Matosinhos\, on March 11th\, from 10am to 5pm (1 hour lunch: 1pm to 2pm). Additionally\, it aims to equip doctoral students with strategies to better cope with stressors inherent to the PhD process\, thereby preventing burnout. \n  \nTrainer: Ana Salgado \nAna Salgado holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from University of Minho. With over 15 years of experience in higher education\, she has taught as a lecturer at multiple institutions. She has led pedagogical projects aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching. SUMMARY:Storytelling for Science: Foundations
DESCRIPTION:Storytelling can help researchers communicate complex ideas clearly\, create relevance for different audiences and make their work more memorable. This highly interactive introductory workshop gives participants a practical foundation in using storytelling techniques for research communication and public engagement. \nRather than focusing heavily on theory\, participants work with their own research throughout\, starting with a short pre-work outline\, then progressively shaping it in the session — from a story-structured research explanation\, into a short\, audience-focused story with a clear narrative arc\, and finally into a format suited to a specific context. \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATION:\nThe ‘Storytelling for Science: Foundations’ workshop will be held online\, on April 6th\, from 9am to 1pm. The session will be conducted in english. \n  \nRegistrations are open until March 7th. \n\nCIIMAR & IPMA: free\nStandard: 80€ (CCMAR have a 50% discount)\n\nAfter registration closes\, registrants will receive a pre-work to do before the session. DESCRIPTION:Os acidentes\, desastres\, incidentes críticos acontecem de forma inesperada\, repentina e avassaladora. Nem sempre as pessoas envolvidas num incidente crítico apresentam danos físicos visíveis\, mas podem apresentar prejuízo ou comprometimento emocional. \nÉ comum ocorrerem fortes reações emocionais em pessoas envolvidas num incidente crítico que podem ser desorganização cognitiva ou afetiva\, desespero\, raiva e apatia. Compreender que estas respostas emocionais são adequadas perante a «anormalidade» da situação pode ajudar a lidar eficazmente com os sentimentos\, pensamentos e comportamentos na recuperação. \nNeste sentido\, a intervenção psicossocial assume um papel facilitador na recuperação\, em que os primeiros socorros psicológicos constituem uma ferramenta importante para quem\, no seu dia a dia\, se possa vir a deparar com a necessidade de prestar apoio a pessoas em situações de choque ou em crise emocional. \n  \n\nINFORMAÇÕES GERAIS:\nEsta formação será realizada presencialmente\, no CIIMAR\, nos dias 23 e 30 de abril\, das 9h às 13h. SUMMARY:Primeiros Socorros Psicológicos
DESCRIPTION:Os acidentes\, desastres\, incidentes críticos acontecem de forma inesperada\, repentina e avassaladora. Nem sempre as pessoas envolvidas num incidente crítico apresentam danos físicos visíveis\, mas podem apresentar prejuízo ou comprometimento emocional. \nÉ comum ocorrerem fortes reações emocionais em pessoas envolvidas num incidente crítico que podem ser desorganização cognitiva ou afetiva\, desespero\, raiva e apatia. Compreender que estas respostas emocionais são adequadas perante a «anormalidade» da situação pode ajudar a lidar eficazmente com os sentimentos\, pensamentos e comportamentos na recuperação. \nNeste sentido\, a intervenção psicossocial assume um papel facilitador na recuperação\, em que os primeiros socorros psicológicos constituem uma ferramenta importante para quem\, no seu dia a dia\, se possa vir a deparar com a necessidade de prestar apoio a pessoas em situações de choque ou em crise emocional. \n  \n\nINFORMAÇÕES GERAIS:\nEsta formação será realizada presencialmente\, no CIIMAR\, nos dias 23 e 30 de abril\, das 9h às 13h. SUMMARY:Science Communication (public speaking for non experts audience)
DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to improve the oral communication skills of the attendees\, to ultimately contribute to better\, pitches\, presentations of their work or other oral communications when addressing non-expert audiences. \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATIONS:\nThe ‘Science Communication‘ workshop will be held on May 18th\, from 10am to 5pm\, in the old Vaccination Center of Matosinhos. \nThe session will be conducted in english (unless all participants speak portuguese). \n  \nThis workshop is aimed for CIIMAR PhD Students and Post-Docs (priority to PhD students). At IGC\, she was responsible for institutional communication and the press office and coordinated several science education and communication projects. Her work in science communication has received awards in Portugal and abroad. \nAna Salgado\, Head of Training and Career Office \nAna Salgado holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from University of Minho. With over 15 years of experience in higher education\, she has taught as a lecturer at multiple institutions. She has led pedagogical projects aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching. Ana has been actively engaged in designing training programs for PhD supervisors and developing courses for PhD\, master’s\, and bachelor’s students focused on transversal skills.

SUMMARY:Expectations and Responsibilities in Doctoral Supervision
DESCRIPTION:Doctoral supervision is one of the most determining factors for the quality of the doctoral experience\, for the development of independent researchers and for the attractiveness of doctoral programs.  \nIn a context in which Doctoral Education faces new challenges associated with internationalization\, open science\, artificial intelligence\, integrity in research\, diversity of professional paths and the well–being of doctoral students\, the role of the supervisor has become more complex and demanding. \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATION: \nThe ‘Expectations and Responsibilities in Doctoral Supervision‘ worshop will be held online\, on November 12th\, from 2pm to 5:30pm. The session will be conducted in english. \nIs intended to (Co-)supervisors of PhD students and researchers holding a PhD who will soon begin supervising PhD student. \n  \nThis training aims to support supervisors in understanding their academic\, scientific and ethical responsibilities\, promoting more effective\, reflective supervision practices in line with international recommendations and good practices. \n  \nRegistrations until November 5th:\n\nCIIMAR & IPMA: free\nStandard: 70€ (CCMAR has a 50% discount)\n\n  \nTrainer: Ana Freitas \nBachelor’s degree in Education (IE–University of Minho); Master’s degree in Educational Sciences (IE–University of Minho); PhD candidate in Educational Sciences with a research focus on Doctoral Education (FPCEUP). Certified as a teacher trainer (CCPFC/RFO-16273/03) and as a trainer of trainers (EDF-42336-2003).
