SUMMARY:Science Communication (public speaking for non experts audience)
DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to improve the oral communication skills of the attendees\, to ultimately contribute to better\, pitches\, presentations of their work or other oral communications when addressing non-expert audiences. \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATIONS:\nThe ‘Science Communication‘ workshop will be held on May 25th\, from 10am to 5pm\, at IPMA\, Matosinhos. \nThe session can be held in portuguese or english\, depending on the preferences indicated in the registration. \n  \nThis workshop is aimed for CIIMAR PhD Students and Post-Docs (priority to PhD students). \n  \nNOTE: The attendance certificate will be issued if the trainee attends at least 80% of the total course time. \nIf tickets are sold out\, you can sign up for the waiting list (you will be notified in order of registration). \n  \n\nDESCRIPTION:\nAgenda: \n\n10:00 a.m. – Welcome and ice-breaking exercise\n10:30 a.m. – Why and how to communicate (theoretical)\n11:30 a.m. – Break\n11:45 a.m. – Structure your storyline (practical)\n12:15 p.m. – Talk to you colleagues and get feedback (practical)\n12:30 p.m. – Lunch\n2:00 p.m. – Stress management and voice tips and exercises (theoretical – practical)\n3:00 p.m. – 3 minutes Pitch (practical)\n4:45 p.m. – Final remarks\n\nTrainers: \nAna Mena\, Head of Image\, Communication and Outreach Office \nJá desempenhou funções como Coordenadora de Inovação e Educação no Programa MIT Portugal (MPP) em Portugal\, e Coordenadora da Unidade de Comunicação de Ciência e Relações Externas e da Unidade de Public Engagement no Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC). No IGC\, foi responsável pela comunicação institucional e pelo gabinete de imprensa\, e coordenou vários projetos de educação e comunicação de ciência. O seu trabalho em comunicação de ciência já recebeu prémios em Portugal e no estrangeiro. \nAna Salgado\, Head of Training and Career Office \nCom mais de 15 anos de experiência no ensino superior\, lecionou em diversas instituições nacionais e internacionais. Liderou projetos pedagógicos que visam melhorar a qualidade do ensino. A Ana tem estado ativamente envolvida no desenvolvimento de formação para orientadores de doutoramento e cursos\, focados em competências transversais\, para estudantes de doutoramento\, mestrado e licenciatura.

SUMMARY:Time Management and Procrastination
DESCRIPTION:The end of the week is approaching and you haven’t accomplished everything you wanted. You’re glued to your computer\, working intently to finish that article draft before 5 p.m. so you can send it to your supervisor. Should you have pulled an all-nighter? Now you’ll have to make up for it and work over the weekend! \nThis workshop aims to guide PhD candidates throughout their doctoral journey\, promoting productivity and reducing time to completion. It seeks to empower PhD candidates with tools to mitigate\, manage\, or resolve potential issues that may arise in the supervisor–supervisee relationship. Additionally\, it aims to equip doctoral students with strategies to better cope with stressors inherent to the PhD process\, thereby preventing burnout. \n  \nThe Time Management and Procrastination workshop is free for CIIMAR Community and CCMAR\, but prior registration is required (in the ticket below). For participants from other institutions\, the workshop costs 100€. \n  \nIt will be a two-day event taking place on May 21st and 28th\, from 2pm to 5pm. \n\nTarget audience: PhD students\nLocation: IPMA\, Matosinhos\n\n  \nTrainer: Ana Salgado \nAna Salgado holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from University of Minho. With over 15 years of experience in higher education\, she has taught as a lecturer at multiple institutions. She has led pedagogical projects aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching. Ana has been actively engaged in designing training programs for PhD supervisors and developing courses for PhD\, master’s\, and bachelor’s students focused on transversal skills.

SUMMARY:Reuniões doutorais eficazes e feedback eficiente na supervisão doutoral
DESCRIPTION:A supervisão doutoral é uma dimensão central da carreira académica\, envolvendo não apenas o acompanhamento científico\, mas também a gestão eficaz do processo de orientação do desenvolvimento do/a doutorando/a. As reuniões de orientação constituem um espaço privilegiado para este acompanhamento\, podendo representar uma parte significativa da agenda dos orientadores\, quando estes orientam múltiplos estudantes. \nNo entanto\, estas reuniões nem sempre são utilizadas de forma estratégica. A pressão de múltiplos compromissos\, a ausência de referenciais claros e a tendência para substituir encontros por comunicações assíncronas (como o email) podem comprometer a sua eficácia. Acresce que\, muitas vezes\, não existem diretrizes institucionais claras para a condução destas reuniões (Coutts & Marshall\, 2019; Woods & Berger\, 1988). \n  \n\nINFORMAÇÕES GERAIS:\nO workshop ‘Reuniões doutorais eficazes e feedback eficiente na supervisão doutoral‘ será realizado no CIIMAR\, dia 29 de maio\, das 9h30 às 12h30. A sessão será dinamizada em português. \n  \nAs inscrições estão abertas até dia 20 de maio.\n\n\nMembros do CIIMAR e IPMA (prioridade para doutorados): gratuito\nStandard: 100€ (membros do CCMAR têm desconto de 50%)\n\n\n  \nNOTA: O certificado de participação será emitido caso o formando compareça a\, pelo menos\, 80% do tempo total do curso. \nCaso os tickets estejam esgotados\, pode inscrever-se na lista de espera (será notificado por ordem de inscrição). \n  \n\nDESCRIÇÃO:\nEsta formação tem como objetivo apoiar orientadores no desenvolvimento de práticas de supervisão mais estruturadas\, intencionais e eficientes\, potenciando o impacto das reuniões de orientação. \nSerão abordados os seguintes tópicos: \n\nReflexão sobre os objetivos das reuniões;\nApresentação das mais-valias dos diferentes formatos;\nLei de Yerkes-Dodson;\nUtilidade das reuniões coletivas e das reuniões 1-1;\nO que abordar na 1ª reunião;\nEstrutura das reuniões;\nFeedback.\n\n  \nFormadora: Ana Freitas \n\nLicenciatura em Educação (IE-UMinho); Mestrado em Ciências da Educação (IE-UMinho); doutoranda em Ciências da Educação no tema ‘Educação Doutoral’ (FPCEUP).\nCertificada como formadora de professores (CCPFC/RFO-16273/03) e como formadora de formadores (EDF-42336-2003).\nÉ atualmente assistente convidada na Universidade do Porto (Faculdade de Engenharia e Faculdade de Ciências) e doctoral research fellow no CIIE – Centro de Investigação e Intervenção Educativas\, na FPCEUP.
