SUMMARY:Visual Communication in Practice for Scientists and Researchers
DESCRIPTION:This is a free online workshop for CIIMAR Community\, but prior registration is required (in the ticket below). For participants from external institutions\, the workshop costs 100€. Registrations are open until February 13th. \n  \nThe course will take place in two morning sessions (from 10am to 12pm) on March 2nd and 3rd at IPMA\, Matosinhos. \nIt will be held in english. \n  \nGoal:  \nHelping researchers create visuals that are clear\, compelling\, and scientifically credible\, tailored to the needs of their audience. \nWorkshop focus: \nThis applied workshop has two parts: \n\nFirst\, an introduction to visual communication in science and research\, looking at a range of examples from participants’ disciplines (Marine and Environmental Research);\nSecond\, a hands-on session applying visual principles to a specific type of scientific communication material.\n\nDuring the applied session\, we review examples\, and participants have the opportunity to revise or create a visual. They receive feedback from peers and the facilitator. \nTrainer: \nSuzanne Whitby\, Founder | Trainer\, Facilitator & Workshop Designer | SciComm Success \nSuzanne Whitby is a futurer\, facilitator\, and storyteller working at the intersection of science\, sustainability\, and society. Suzanne is the founder of Futures Fit and SciComm Success\, and is known for translating complex ideas into meaningful\, actionable insights across Europe. Originally from South Africa and based in Innsbruck\, Austria\, she believes in the power of imagination to shape more hopeful\, sustainable futures.
