SUMMARY:Research Data Management and Open Science
DESCRIPTION:Through a combination of short theoretical inputs and practical examples\, participants will be introduced to key topics such as the FAIR Data Principles\, Data Management Plans (DMPs)\, and the Research Data Lifecycle. \nThe ‘Research Data Management and Open Science’ workshop aims to introduce the fundamental concepts of Research Data Management (RDM) and Open Science. \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATION:\nThis workshop will be held online on October 16th\, from 10:30am to 12pm. \nIt is a free workshop designed for CIIMAR PhD Students.  \n  \nRegistration closes on October 14th. \n  \nNOTE: The attendance certificate will be issued if the trainee attends at least 80% of the total course time. \n  \n\nDESCRIPTION:\nThe workshop’s objective is to raise awareness and provide practical guidance to help early-career researchers adopt open\, responsible\, and efficient research practices from the beginning of their academic careers. \n  \nTrainer: Maria Paola Tomasino \nMaria Paola Tomasino is responsible for Data Stewardship and Open Science at CIIMAR-UP\, supporting researchers in handling their data according to FAIR (Findable\, Accessible\, Interoperable\, and Reusable) and Open Science principles. She is involved in national and international infrastructures for best practices in Data Management (e.g. GDI\, Biodata\, ELIXIR). Her research interests focus on microbial diversity in natural and contaminated ecosystems. She is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students\, encouraging outreach activities\, and promoting collaboration between scientists and the general public.

In addition to being a recruitment platform\, LinkedIn has established itself as a strategic space for researchers to disseminate scientific results\, share publications\, awards and projects\, keep up with emerging trends and establish contacts that can lead to collaborations\, project applications and international consortia. \n  \n\nGENERAL INFORMATIONS:\nThe ‘LinkedIn for Researchers‘ workshop will be held at CIIMAR on November 12th\, from 2pm to 5:30pm. Her experience in academic writing led to her profound interest in healthier approaches to writing when supporting her peers\, both in lectures\, writing groups and through online training for doctoral researchers. She holds a PhD in Educational Research and a professional qualification to deliver online and residential academic writing retreats.
